(September 2 to September 8, 2024)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
Announcements and Updates
Early this week, DerVVulfman announced that the forum's library was going to have new editions added to its Plug-ins and Script Forums, specifically adding sub-forums to each for each gaming engine that the software covers. This he stated. And by the end of the week, almost every script and plug-in was indeed placed within their own engine-specific subforum with fewer than 10% of the library remaining.

Last week, Kirito announced that there would be further Server Updates this week. However, the upgrade he had planned was delayed due to a critical error existing within the upgrade package itself. And he is loathe to employ any such upgrade until the critical error is resolved.

It has been a while since hearing about The New RPG Maker Central Archive, learning that DerVVulfman was archiving the now non-existant forum. But this week, DerVVulfman returned to announce that he had posted over one-hundred and thirty of the oldest scripts in the board, working backwards so the most recent posted in the now-late forum would be the most recent here. Currently, only RPGMaker VXAce scripts have been posted, but he stated that he has a lot more to add.

Occasions
Though he has been around the forum's Discord for a while, Demos "Rise Evil" Kerrigan decided to make his appearance in the forum itself. Living in Canada, Fluent in French, enjoys cooking, and fancies himself an artist when he has the time. Greeted by DerVVulfman, he acknowledged his love for RPGMaker XP and RPGMaker MZ, and was greeted by kyoides who appeared more familiar with Canadian TV than the Canadian.

General Chat
Long and arduous hikes appeared to be on the mind of some forumers, be it DerVVulfman who hiked two miles to-and-from the garage that was working on his car radio, or kyonides recalling a five-hundred meter hike while carying zinc sheets from the hardware store during a very hot weekend. And of heat, DerVVulfman noted he still has an air conditioner that needs repair.

A variety of events hit this week's News of the World, such as support for Israel waning in both the US and UK despite the IDF finding extensive Hamas-build subway tracks under northern gaza. Anti-Isreal protests have set off smoke bombs in New York, and vandalized statues in Columbia University. And dspite heard calling to have throats cut, former Labour councillor Ricky Jones pleads not guilty to inciting violence. But violence isn't directed solely at Israel, a Pakistani Imam was arrested in the Netherlands for issuing a religiously sanctioned assassination order to kill a Dutch politician, a man of Afghanistan heritage sped into Pedestrians in Darmstadt, Germany claiming to be under Allah's orders, and a migrant shouting 'Allahu Akbar' attempting a stabbing spree in a German Police Station was arrested. Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Zelensky hits the west, asking for more weapons as the war with Russia rages, Russian missiles hitting Universities and Hospitals this past week. The Biden/Harris Administration slammed for failing to protect ships as Iran backed Houthis attack more ships in the Red Sea, Biden's son Hunter pleaing guilty to all nine tax evasion charges, Trump inclined to release the Jeffrey Epstein Client list to the public, the Populist-Right wins control with high voter turnout in Germany, and much more hit this week's news.

Tech Talk
Freedom of Speech among social media sites were headlighting the News of the Cyber World as liberals such as Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair calls to crack down on misinformation while Tim Walz's attorney general praises censorship of Twitter/X in Brazil. Of that, Musk's Starlink now blocks X in Brazil, but calls on the Brazil Supreme Court Justice to be sent to prison for the order, stranding tens of millions of X users without social media. But victories for social media and free speech occurred this week as the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals partially blocked a California law that burdened social media with extensive moderation policies. And Telegram's CEO Pavel Durov blasted French authorities over his arrest and claims he would be responsible for illegal activities performed by others using his platform. Amazon's Alexa clearly has been providing a one-sided viewpoint to those asking information about the U.S. 2024 presidential election, providing no information to promote Donald Trump, but giving sterling reccomendations for Kamala Harris; this being yet another so-described error by big-tech in favor of Democrats during an election. TikTok users committing check fraud, Russian Intelligence Officers cyberattacking Ukraine, the astronauts stranded by the Boeing Starliner, Cox Media using phones to illegally collect user data, and more hit this week's cybernews.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Were you to ask around, you'd find there wasn't much up among RMers, Remi-chan mentioning she's been keeping herself occupied working on a video or playing World of Warcraft. But she had been working on some dialogue for Fantasia, and gave a screenshot of one of the scenes from her game.

Material Development
Event Systems Database
Who would have thought it possible? But DerVVulfman found it was when he discovered and uploaded an evented TETRIS demo by Laughy created with RPGMaker 2000. Like the other demos he had recently uploaded, it also includes a file necessary for users of RPGMaker 2003 to open and examine this very complete work that allows you to change game difficulty, control speeds, music and more.

Scripts Database
RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
For those that wish to have a minor change in a character's movement without having to alter or edit their graphic, kyonides created for RPGMaker XP the KharStepOrder script to change the order of stepping frames for heroes and NPCs. Now they may step forward with their left rather than their right, or the other way around.

RPGMaker VX/VXAce (RGSS2/3) Engines
For those that wish to have a minor change in a character's movement without having to alter or edit their graphic, kyonides created for RPGMaker VX and Ace the KharStepOrder script to change the order of stepping frames for heroes and NPCs. Now they may step forward with their left rather than their right, or the other way around.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
It has been half a year since Eric Matyas released any of his music under a retro Lo-Fi style. But if the game you are working on demand such, be grateful for his Original Music and Sound FX. And this week, Eric chose one of his more recent pieces to be re-recorded under Lo-Fidelity, "Desolation in the Outer Rim{, a piece with a haunting synth keyboard, electric hums and light accents of a glockenspiel.

Filmography
If you wished to visit Remi-chan's Cinematic Theatre, I am sure you do not need to spring for a ticket. The former bizarre monkey has no problem relaying how she chases after her wishing star, and works to improve her artistic talent.

Well, that's it for this week.
