Seems like a worthwhile thread to revive.

Recently had the idea of re-imagining one of my in-game cinematics (pre-rendered) and so this just kinda... became.

It's not much longer than the old and is far, FAR less boring.

This is the old one if you'd like to compare.

In case anyone who's been snoopin up my arty thread comes along, that image of the green devilcat granny is from this in-game event. About where she says "Sacreblu? I told you not to follow me."

Most of my art these days is based on how I imagine characters looking during certain scenes, those yet to come, or those already imagined.

Well, I guess I might as well post this. Laughing

This is on the 1st post of the Half Kaiser Battler Project. While the thread is meant to hold resources for anyone making animated battlers that are of the Half-Kaiser style, I should point out that many resources were ones I made. I'm particularly pleased with the battle axe and wooden shield. Still, I do have to give credit to the HKCP team of RMXP.Org for their original eye and hair styles.

Remi-chan, your new cutscene is badass! I got a real sense of movement, well done!
DerVVulfman, looks awesome, the girl with the gun is my favourite one. ^_^

I've been messing around with particle effects, made some kind of thrust looking thing.

Nice. I see zoom and fade options for each particle was introduced. How about gravity options? This akin to flame particles rising up against gravity, or particles pulled down to the surface?

Oh, I edited your post to use IMG BBCode for your attachment. Winking In case you weren't aware you could do that.

Cheers mang! I've always had fun with planetary cutscenes.

Now... since It appears I've whet your appetite, I suppose I should show you what a cutscene looks like that I've put hours of frame-by-frame animation and effort into instead of one that is essentially just pan/zoom/rotate.

Apotropaism

Angwy catmum. :0

And here's a scene which well characterizes the Twins and some other characters.

And oh yeah i did this huge custom tileset! This took a while, mostly due to having to implement all the events from the old model over.

Welp, I made more progress!

First, I found this cool method of introducing characters the first time they appear.

Not inspired at all by Genshin Impact no i SWEAR--

Oh and also I've been busy concepting a menu system that will get me away somewhat from the default rpgmaker MV kind.

Hi,  Very happy + Tongue sticking out  I want to know your opinions about something I'm thinking about doing... they are some vehicles but I don't know if they match my suburb tileset or any other tileset. At the moment I only have this image.
