(April 20 to April 26, 2020)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette!  Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
  Occasions
It has been over a decade since his last appearance.  But with a grand salute, G.I. Toez  is once again reporting for duty.  When last he was here, his son wasn't even ten, but now 21. But G.I. Toez has returned and thrilled to see the forum still exists.  Whilst being stunned that his son had indeen grown up, DerVVulfman applauded his new avatar's detailwork.

  General Chat
The first week of US President Trump's Second Term hit this week's News of the World, be it that the CIA now backs the Wuhan Lab Leak theory, or that Trump's threat of sanctions against Columbia forced the nation to accept the migrant flights of Columbian Illegal Aliens. Four more hostages have been freed from Hamas, though 90 still remain. This while President Trump is encouraging Jordan and Egypt to take in more Palestinian refugees.  President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea had been impeached for insurrection and indicted for his brief declaration of martial law, a possible four-year prison sentence pending. And Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is expected to secure another victory, a man known as "Europe's last dictator" and a ally to Vladimir Putin.

  Tech Talk
TikTok hit this week's News of the Cyberworld as President Trump works to keep the online platform alive within the US. However, users had noticed that censorship indeed exists after China returned the app to the US market.  Google's global agenda race against other big tech while selling its  ad tech business to appease European Union regulators and Subaru's onboard system vulnerability allowing millions of cars to be tracked also hit this week's news.

  Forum Games & Nonsense
After over a decade, G.I. Toes resurrected Count to a million, the simple forum game that keeps things escalating.

Games Development
  Development Discussion
On the game making front, feel free to ask Remi-chan What's Up, you RMer.  It had taken some time, but her portrait artist sent more artwork, as well as receiving updates from two spritework artists.  But it isn't just her waiting around for work as she's been toiling away to either remaster or recode her boss battles.

Within the Maps and Screenshots Thread, Remi-chan posted some recent shots of her game,  battle scenes with the Insidious Architect, and an award for vanquishing the Legionnaire General.

For those interested in game development, kyonides posed a dialogue regarding Top Players VS Game Mechanics & Features. Using an unnamed Real Time Strategy mechanics as his example, he wondered whether games became difficult or limited in what may be available thanks to the interaction of seasoned players, if elite players have prompted newer players to use their techniques or jeer those that don't, or are game devs at fault for limitations that may have even been influenced, or by their neglect.

  Upcoming Projects
This week, kyonides developed a Tech tree for Klans XP, enabling three separate sets of skills available.  While mainly focusing upon the Warchief's tech tree, there are other tech trees to handle the military and the economics of the game.  Such skills that can be learned nvolve benefits when facing the undead, increased military morale and monetary boons.

Material Development
  Resources Database
  2D Resources
For those who enjoyed the comical Die Hard parody with Kevin James, then glance at the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V as he created a Mall Cop he dubbed Paul Bloke for his game's shopping center.

Creativity Section
  Music and Audio
If you needed something playful and energetic for a puzzle minigame, you need go no further than to the Original Music and Sound FX by Eric Matyas.  A very unusual piece, it is a campy composition entitled "Bubble Game in my Brain" and would be very suitable for any game where someone like Willy Wonka may exist.

  Art and Design
Within Solitaire's CRAZY WILD OUTLAW WOLF! board, we have a new episode of "Books on Computers".  Feel free to watch her patented randomness with a delicious hearty Bag of Beef Stew from Food Life Balanced ®.

This week, Eric Matyas added three more textures to his Massive Library of Free Images for Everyone.  The textures are mottled, two green while the third gray with blue highlights.

Another week passes and more images have been added to DerVV's Stream FrankenArts, images heralding Siletrea's playthrough of the second Legend of Zelda game for the NES itself.

Affter their recovery from nearly a decade ago, new pieces have appeared within the Solitairy Artworks by Solitaire. There are before and after shots as Solitare decided to recreate some of her works such as a red-headed scythe wielder was redrawn with a more menacing perspective.

With the coming of the Chinese New Year, this Wednesday will herald the Year of the Snake.  And with that, Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing now presents the Coruscant Snake herself.  Pale skin with serpents of coal against a pitch and midnight backdrop, Lilith makes her debut with her portrait and a vocally introduced speed draw.

  Filmography
Within Remi-chan's Cinematic Theater, you get a teaser of the updated boss battle character introductions that will be included in Remi's game, Fantasia.

Well, that's it for this week.
