I just saw a LetsPlay where you played the sideline characters from Sonic.... and GO TO HELL!!! No joke, Sonic is the Devil and I've seen him slice Tails the fox in half, Amy Rose gets her heart ripped out with a lethal uppercut into her chest... Gruesome in all 16bit glory!

They've classified lootboxes as gambling, let alone introducing children into gambling.  In a number of cases, you're actually spending real money to get virtual items.  And it found that three popular games – Overwatch, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Fifa 18 – were in violation of gambling legislation.  EA and Blizzard aren't talking, but Valve is opening up a dialog with Belgium on this issue. 


In this case, Belgium is spot on.  DLC is one thing, but loot boxes?  You're spending money for a chance to get what you want in a roulette-wheel styled system.  TOTALLY unrelated to Gem Roulette that kicks A$$  Unfortunately, you usually don't get what you're trying for, and it is introducing gambling to minors who often play these games.

I encountered the "loot box" system in Paladins, which is basically Overwatch Lite. The Free version, if you will.
You want a new skin for a character? It's in this lootcrate! ...along with 129 other things.
Oh, you want this cool emote? It's in this lootcrate with 9 other items! $5 per box, go ahead and try!
You want this emote? All you have to do is do these 4 quests that require to play basically all day! Oh yeah, and once you've done those quests, you have to buy the key to fully unlock the emote. The key is locked though until you buy a box.
Buy the box to unlock the key. 

That's not even a joke, Paladins really did that. Had a special "Event" to unlock stuff, but you can only get the stuff if you pay for the thing to unlock the thing you have to pay for for the "free" emote. 

Can we just stop with the microtransactions?

My Computer screwed up. Now I got to fix it. Huh. There's cobwebs. Seems like some spider or something is living in the computer. I think I might know what caused this recent error, and should be easy to fix... Somewhat.

Got it working again, and MAN it's slow! Yep. I'm going to reset it. At least Windows 10 does SOMETHING right. And that is not having to have a disc to even reformat the PC. I'll just have to do a bit of backups first..... Somehow. After that, maybe it'll be faster than it is now. Right now, my PC is a bit more sluggish in about a half a week of not actually using it.

So I downloaded a few demos from the Japan side of the PlayStation Network's Store on my PlayStation 3. when I started the demos all but one were in English. Wait. I expected the demos to be in Japanese, not English. How did those demos know that my settings on the PlayStation 3 was using the English Language?
