Got a new, and bigger in storage space terms, hard drive for a certain inactive PC to replace the old bad one. I'm currently waiting for my dad, who does this stuff at his job, to come over tomorrow and help out in the replacement process, as I am rusty and it might be a little complicated to replace the drive due to how small the casing is.

The drive itself is a Western Digital Blue drive. And it's space is 1TB. I could get away with installing 2 Operating Systems if I can, with Windows being the main OS. But I'm gonna have to have some knowledge in that, which I do not, so Windows is going on the thing. Well, gives me a reason to use my Windows Insider status some more. Other than that, Downloading, installing, and transferring will take a while too. So I can give my Acer Aspire laptop, as well as the Dell Latitude laptop, a well earned break. Though they might still be used to monitor Chats during any livestreams I do with my PS4.

The Windows 7-esk Remote Desktop Connection program is saving me time to copy stuff from the laptop. Heck, all the projects or two I had in development is already on the PC again.

The store I work severely needed an upgrade.

We have a sweet server system to handle a lot of data, including required internet software related to sending data to law enforcement, and transmission of data to the State Police and between other authorities. UNFORTUNATELY, we still relied on an older station that handled all of the transaction printer functions.... and *gasp* I think the printer cable was 25 years OLD!

And thus is why I said it 'needed' and upgrade... The old station was pretty honkin' old. How old? Windows freakin' XP !!! And it suffered a severe hard drive crash last night, only for me to discover this mess this morning! What a way to start the weekend!

It took all day to do full diagnosis, determine how to transfer printer operating to another PC, generate secure links to other stations, and configure each station for the new redirects.

This is stupidity in itself.

Okay, I had to go to the hospital a couple months ago. The pandemic was around, but the hospital was surprisingly empty. There may be a reason why.... stupidity????

Well, for what little they did, I ended up with a bill that showed up a month later. So... I ... (NO I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL FROM SHOCK AT THE BILL) .... I wrote a check for the value and sent in the payment. Oh, and my handwriting was immaculate.

Well yesterday, I received another bill.... for the same procedure. And the value??? Almost the same.... almost It was 90% of the value claiming I made a payment already. The payment of just 10% of the money owed.

WHAT THE HELL????

So today, I went to my bank. Mary at the bank was a bit... weirded out. Mary is the assistant manager there. She asked me to wait and found the check. MOST of the check. And she was basically wondering what kind of drugs were these idiots on.

She gave me a printout copy of the check itself.... what was left of it. THEY TORE THE CHECK AND LOST SOME OF THE DECIMAL VALUES! Still, when you write a check, you also write in text how much it is for if you can't read the numbers. And the idiots who deposited the check didn't notice! Even dumber, they wrote what they thought the check was written for on the check itself! Total incompetence.

So... I have to write them another check, knowing that they didn't take ALL the funds and lie. Still, these guys were morons. I should put into the envelope a copy of the previous check and say "DID YOU NOT READ THE AMOUNT? WHAT MORON CASHED THIS?"

*sigh* Still, I thought you couldn't cash a damaged check anyway.

I just can't catch a break with this PC. Just recently, an update occurred when I decided to restart it. I just wanted to play PSO2, which was recently released on Windows 10 PCs via, the Microsoft Store. Instead, I had to play PC Troubleshooting, go into Safe Mode, by forcing a boot error by using the Power Button, and uninstall an update, which looked like it worked. So yeah. I just can't catch a break. But thankfully, it was the update that started this mess, so everything's fine now.

That's the last time I ever use Sleep Mode on the thing.

Sleep mode and hibernation are pure crap! Skip them whenever it's possible! If you won't be using your PC and don't wanna turn it off, block it with your password. That's all you need to do.
