KScenario XP & Gosu Version 1.0.26
by Kyonides
Introduction
This script should let you choose a starting hero and then send him to some available destination in no time!
It has become a full fledged script but any tester is welcome to run it and provide as much feedback as possible to improve it and make it look better and be useful for the average script devouring user.
Don't worry! Some of the black frames or boxes can be replaced by custom backdrops!
The script also lets you exclude chosen heroes in case you find it convenient! It will either let you go back to this scene later on without duplicating heroes!
You can even choose between the light mode and the dark one for your scene's GUI!
You can find all kinds of templates in the Download Section.
4 Steps
1. Create a text file and name it "hero ID.txt" where ID is a number.
Code:
Age: 19
Gold: 2500
Items:
Weapons: 29,30
Shields:
Helmets: 9,10
Body Armors:
Accessories:
Place: Dark and mystical
Description - 3 Lines Max!
Our werewolf reporter found out she owns a mysterious pub in
the Black Forest attended by strange customers. Her drinks are
so famous that people suspect she is some sort of mage.
Reply - 4 Lines Max!
Bah! There's nothing a good drink of
mine can't cure so stop babbling like
a lil baby, you fool!
2. Create another text file and name it "places.txt". It will include all possible destinations for your hero!
Code:
Map ID: 1
X Coord: 10
Y Coord: 10
Extra Gold: 500
Name: Sun Desert
Picture: arid land
Description: You can only find salamanders taking a sunbath here.
Map ID: 2
X Coord: 10
Y Coord: 10
Extra Gold: 500
Name: Cherry Town
Picture: medieval town
Description: A quite noisy town where you can find anything you need.
Map ID: 3
X Coord: 10
Y Coord: 10
Extra Gold: 1000
Name: Sunset Valley
Picture: sunset woods
Description: You'd get lost in no time unless you're an elf!
Map ID: 4
X Coord: 10
Y Coord: 10
Extra Gold: 600
Name: Suicide Slums
Picture: medieval slums
Description: Everything has a price, life is no exception!
Map ID: 5
X Coord: 10
Y Coord: 10
Extra Gold: 1000
Name: Bad Reppy Pub
Picture: strange pub
Description: If you care about your reputation, this isn't the right place for you.
Do not forget to leave an empty line at the end of the text file!
3. Place all of them in a folder named KScenario.
By the way, I have included some of the pictures and icons I used in my script except those Melana had already provided.
4. Hit the Playtest button every single time you have made changes to the TXT files.
This will rebuild the script's own database.
A Friendly Advice
KScenario needs FACES!
You gotta get some pictures then!
But don't worry about that! The script takes care of the scripting side.
FAQ Q: I keep getting an error concerning some nil NilClass that could not be found... A: Make sure you did not create a template for a non existing hero in your game database.

Nice choice for a hero to start with. <3
But what to include? Basically what's in the Window_Status screen as a starting point. That way, the player knows something about what he's playing with. Perhaps some starting gold too. Could be different per hero or 'randomly different' (ie random gold, but more gold if a warrior than a thief). AND maybe a small description of the hero.
As to the destination, a brief name of the area and description?
Melana's Gasthaus
A small pub in Osterheim, Melana's Gasthaus is known for its pleasant atmosphere, fine food and its own unique alcoholic blends such as the Brown Special Reserve, the Warrior's Stout, the Iron Ale, the Sunshine Lager and the Toasted Wheat.
* Beers courtesy of Wil Wheaton. Really. I didn't make these up.
Up is down, left is right and sideways is straight ahead. - Cord "Circle of Iron", 1978 (written by Bruce Lee and James Coburn... really...)
You could add something like a shop for starting equipment where you have a limited amount of money to buy some weapons and armors.
Or the option to write a bio or introduction for each character. There is still enough emtpy space I think.
And I think this character sprite fits more to my avatar than the other one.^^

I have already updated Melana's character set and the KScenario script, I have also added a new screenshot and a template for the parser script included already in KScenario. It features stuff like age, starting amount of gold, and the character's brief description. So how is its development going so far? Do I need to change anything right away? O_o?
Edit: I edited the script once again.

OK, OK, this is how it would look like if you include any kind of equipment in the hero's setup text file.
So what do you think about it, guys? O_o?
Obviously that information will disappear if you press C or Enter or anything the like. It will return once you exit the place selection stage.
Edit: I have recently updated the KScenario XP script and the hero setup text file template!
