A large percentage of Hollywood is made up of Democrats, so they're usually a main contributer to Democratic election campaign funds. Dodd's threat that Hollywood intends to withhold election funds is more akin to Extortion. Nicely done, Huffington Post.

We won. ^_^ Some politician tried to bribe opposing members of congress out, but we still won.

I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. While the battle against SOPA/PIPA may be over, the battle against Internet Censorship is only the beginning. We'll need to stay vigilant should another bill of its nature rear its ugly head again.

This is far from over. Do really think they would give up cause that bill was toss away? Too much *ching ching* is loss because of file sharing. Rich people will do what ever it takes to defend their $$$$$$$$$. Lord know what is gonna happen. "We" may not be in charge next time / get a chance to vote. What's stopping the FBI from raiding everyone? You live in a different country is a wrong answer BTW. $100's of millions is being lost. Rich people are not gonna just say, "okay we lost, forget it." Ahhh, hell no.. The price of Photoshop keeps going up because of pirates.

(Also, Hollywood needs to stop making shitty movies then people won't pirate as much. Just what I was thinking.)

I think Hybrida is right. A new version of the bill will come up.
I also think the fact that SOPA essentially attacked DNSSEC was a significant factor in its rapid failure. It turned quite a few former supporters against the bill.
