Well, if you changed it to INPUT::Z, then on the keyboard, it ought to be the 'D' key because the keys used in RGSS are not processed directly to the keyboard.
Refer to this picture, with the white numbers being the key used in the script.
So if you want to make the player push 'Z' to dash, you should change it to INPUT::A instead.

today i think i read something about rmxp games being able to be played online meaning multilayer or even lan based is this true if so can someone give me more detail please

There have been a number of packages for online play, mainly based on the NetPlay package released by Me and the NetPlay team. However, none of the released NetPlay systems have been complete. Inability to support parties over 10 online, incomplete trade systems. None that I have seen have been finished.

I do remember a anti lag script way back when but i been outta the RMXP loop for a while.
